Under constant pressure to optimize working capital, treasury organizations must balance the need to extend Days-Payable-Outstanding and the necessity of protecting vital relationships with key suppliers. In this panel discussion, Bimbo Bakeries will share best practices in implementing a successful supply chain finance program. We’ll examine the importance of gaining C-suite buy-in following careful analysis and engagement with key stakeholders throughout the organization, such as legal, procurement and sourcing teams. Practitioners will discuss the process of selecting a supplier finance program that would offer a win/win for both buyers and suppliers, protecting this vital relationship. We’ll present the perspective of both the buyer and the supplier, offering insights into the multi-pronged approach to increasing working capital efficiency while minimizing supplier impacts. We’ll also examine the role of a banking partner in navigating a successful implementation.

Brad Johns, Bimbo Bakeries USA
Brad Johns is the Senior Treasury Manager at Bimbo Bakeries USA, but has worn many hats within the finance function during his career, from Investor Relations, to M&A, to FP&A and now Treasury. One thing that has been a constant throughout his career has been project management. Brad has led projects as varied as establishing a private equity investment holding company in Southeast Asia, to acquiring cement, concrete and asphalt companies, to consolidating administration of more than $500m of equipment leases, to the most recent project of implementing a North America Supply Chain Finance program to address more than $3b of supplier spend. Brad has lived in Mexico and Indonesia, speaks fluent Spanish and is an avid fisherman in his free time.
Kathryn Farrell, Bank of America
Kathryn Farrell is the North American Manager for the Global Transaction Banking (GTS) Commercial Bank Trade Product Structuring Specialists, in addition to GTS Large Corporate Consumer, Retail, Healthcare and Technology Media Telecom industry Structuring Specialists. In this role, Kathryn is a product solution specialist helping Large and Mid- Corporate client teams identify, support, and execute on complex global Supply Chain and Trade opportunities aimed at providing net interest margin and fee-related growth. Kathryn joined Bank of America in 2013 and brings a wealth of valuable and versatile experience with her to this important role. Prior to this, Kathryn had worked in Trade related roles at Citigroup, JPMorgan and Fifth Third Bank. She started her career in New York, with stints held in Asia. Kathryn’s responsibilities have focused on working capital management solutions specifically for multinational corporations in the Consumer, Retail, Energy & Power, Healthcare and Commodity sectors around the world. Kathryn completed her studies in Business Administration from Villanova University and recently completed the Executive MBA program at Kellogg University in Chicago. Kathryn currently resides in New York, USA.
