Boston Financial Investment Management, LP is one of the largest multi-family investment managers of low-income housing in the U.S. The firm specializes in low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) investment syndication and asset management. Boston Financial is a wholly owned subsidiary of ORIX, USA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This individual will provide financial analysis and strategic support to senior management including financial presentations, investment analysis, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis and other projects preparing board presentations, industry/peer group comparisons, as requested by senior management. In addition, this role will interact with BFIM’s Corporate Accounting and Finance Team and support the production of the Company’s financial forecast, annual budget, operating plan variance analysis. S/he will act as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. As a key member of BFIM’s Finance, Reporting and Treasury Team, this position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with the CEO and CFO.

  •  Analyze P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Budgets, Forecasts and Actual analysis
  • Consolidation and analysis of company-wide financial and operating metrics at the Business/Fund/Portfolio level
  • Business planning and analysis support for new product offering assessment, new business development, etc
  • Develop and maintain financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
  • Research and recommend GAAP financial reporting requirements on new investment and business opportunities
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Analyze and monitor current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses and investment returns, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of +/-variance
  • Prepare and respond to parent company requests for analysis and/or Business or Portfolio level information
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for investment committee, Senior Management and the Board of Directors
  • Support Senior Management Team and Departments Leads with in-depth analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team; flexibility and ability to work under pressure

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA required
  • 5-7+ years of progressive work experience in a public accounting and/or a public company setting
  • Strong financial statement expertise, including Balance Sheet and Cash Flow analysis and interpretation
  • Experience in Multi-Family Real Estate preferred; Affordable Housing or LIHTC experience a plus
  • Advanced financial and analytical skills with the ability to understand complex real estate and financial transactions, and investment partnership structures
  • Strong presentation skills, including advanced modeling and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and communicate effectively with senior management at BFIM and OUC
