This session provides an introduction to the world of cryptocurrencies (Crypto) and an overview of corporate treasury management issues encountered through use of cryptocurrencies. The basic concepts of blockchain and cryptocurrency functionality, the current US and international regulatory developments impacting the digital economy and treasury management issues related to cryptocurrencies will be discussed.

About the speakers:Charles Hills is a licensed certified public accountant and tax executive with over 30 years of experience in corporate management and accounting. He has significant expertise in federal, state, and international tax regimes. His career spans Ernst & Young, Digital Equipment Corporation, EG&G, Inc., and PerkinElmer, Inc. where he led the tax audit function for over a decade. Charles is currently a manager in the Tax Services Practice at L&V Partners. "] Janice A. Leahy brings expertise spanning publicly-owned, billion dollar multi-national companies to small privately-held enterprises. Prior to founding L&V Partners, Janice directed tax, treasury, and trade compliance for GSI Group Inc., a multi-national technology company. Ms. Leahy has been a featured lecturer at Harvard Business School, and has served on the boards of Southern New Hampshire University International Finance Advisory, the New Hampshire International Trade Association (NHITA) and the Treasury Executives Institute, of which she is the founder.
