Transforming a Global Treasury Organization from “Transactional” to “Strategic”

presented by Maria Logiopoulou, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Given the impacts to financial markets and ongoing changes in technology, treasuries are in a much different place than they were 5 years ago. The role of treasury has evolved into that of being a strategic advisor for the business. CFOs are relying of treasurers to be custodians for risk management policies, to protect cash, and to achieve an optimal liquidity structure by effectively managing working capital.

Bitcoin: Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD)

presented by Ray Graber, Graber Associates
Bitcoins have gotten much more traction than early detractors and pundits expected. With that reality, what do banks need to do, if anything, to prepare for their existence and surprising acceptance?  This session will present the fundamental workings of virtual currencies with an emphasis on bitcoin and the current state of the regulatory front. We will get your thinking caps energized as to how bankers and corporate treasury folks might approach virtual currencies and some thoughts about what the future might hold for bitcoin.

  • The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
  • Regulations? We don’t need no stinkin’ regulations!”
  • Flintstones or Jetsons?
  • The legal tender debate
  • What treasury staffs and bankers should do now
