In light of the SEC’s decision to implement further reforms, and with a rising rate environment on the horizon, investors must prepare for the reality that not all money funds are created equal. Join us to examine how treasury professionals can adapt to this changing landscape and be successful in a new era of cash management. Michael Morin, Director of Institutional Portfolio Management at Fidelity Investments, will discuss current market developments, providing corporate treasurers and cash managers with insights on how these dynamic events will likely evolve. Mr. Morin will discuss the impact of managing liquidity in a rising interest rate environment, the implications of the SEC changes to money fund investors and the potential alternatives to modifying investment policy statements in order to adapt to this new era of liquidity management.

Michael Morin Fidelity Investments Michael Morin is the Director of Institutional Portfolio Management for money market funds within the Fixed Income Division of Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMRCo), the investment advisor to Fidelity’s family of mutual funds. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals, institutions, and financial intermediaries. Mr. Morin is responsible for the delivery, implementation and oversight of institutional cash management investment strategies. Prior to joining Fidelity in 2008, Mr. Morin spent ten years at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. as a managing director in the Worldwide Securities Services division. His responsibilities included the development, implementation, and monitoring of global investment strategies across the Securities Lending & Cash Trade Execution portfolio valued in excess of $300 billion. Additional responsibilities included assisting the sales efforts to prospects and reviewing portfolio performance with existing clients. Mr. Morin held various trading positions at The Bank of New York Mellon Securities Lending Division for ten years prior to joining JPMorgan. Mr. Morin earned a bachelor of science degree in Finance and Quantitative Methods from Syracuse University and a MBA from Fordham University. He also is a CFA® charterholder.Carolyn Maloney, CTP Hypertherm, Inc. Carolyn Maloney has been the Treasurer of Hypertherm, Inc in Hanover, New Hampshire since 2006. Prior to this date, she was the Controller of Hypertherm, Inc. Carolyn has also been the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for the Enfield Shaker Museum and has been an active contributor to the Twin Pines Housing Trust organization. Carolyn passed her CTP exam in June, 2007. In 2006, she got her MBA from Franklin Pierce University. Carolyn attained her Bachelors in Accounting from Bentley College in 1987. As Treasurer, she has been a key fiduciary to the Hypertherm, Inc Stock Ownership Plan. Other areas of focus include global banking, payroll, tax compliance / global legal setup and strategy, credit, and equity management. She has led or been an active contributor to many of the Hypertherm Global growth and financing projects. Rebecca O’Connell Bank of America In her current role, Rebecca collaborates with client management teams to provide middle market clients with the expertise of highly experienced corporate advisors focused on working capital, financial analytics, process efficiencies and best practice knowledge sharing. Prior to joining Bank of America, Rebecca has 16 years of corporate treasurer/finance experience, directly managing cross-functional global teams and working with both domestic and global entities from $100M in revenues to Fortune 500 MNCs; Public and Private such as Technology, service, manufacturing, distribution, healthcare/pharmaceutical, brokerage & insurance. Rebecca has an MBA in international business relations and is a certified treasury professional (CTP). Rebecca was recently selected as a Global Mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation who is committed to advancing women’s economic empowerment. Shelly Pray Bank of America Shelly Pray brings 29 years of banking experience to the Bank of America client management team. Shelly began her career as a teller and transitioned to the Commercial Bank in 1987 assuming different roles within Commercial Loan Administration and, more recently , in Treasury Sales. Shelly has been in her current position as a Global Treasury Solutions Officer for nine years working with middle market clients throughout Northern New England getting to know their businesses and offering tailored domestic and international treasury solutions. Shelly coordinates with Working Capital Advisory, International and Foreign Exchange partners to ensure effective overall Treasury Relationship Management. Michael L. West Michael is the Vice President of Cyber Investigations for Fidelity Investments. This unit is responsible for all aspects of technology investigations focused on online crime. This work includes complex log analysis, host and network forensics, computer incident response and malicious code review. Michael has over twenty years specific investigative experience related to crimes involving technology. Michael has been on the Board of Directors for the National Cyber Forensics and Training Alliance since 2006, and held the position of Chapter President for the High Technology Crime Investigation Associate three times. He has trained law enforcement internationally on the topic of investigating cyber crime. Prior to Fidelity, Michael worked for a security and investigative consulting firm, specializing in complex investigations, such as sabotage, economic espionage, procurement fraud and computer intrusions, with clients in law enforcement, law firms and corporations. Michael holds a BS and MS in Criminal Justice, and has taught computer crime classes at a number of colleges and universities in New England.
